God of War follows Kratos as he leaves his violent past behind and begins a new journey through the harsh world of Norse mythology with his young son, Atreus. After the death of Kratos’ wife, the two set out to fulfill her final wish, facing dangerous creatures, powerful gods, and unexpected challenges along the way. The game combines brutal third-person combat with exploration, puzzles, character progression, and a deeply personal story about family and responsibility. Kratos wields the versatile Leviathan Axe alongside his other abilities as he battles through forests, mountains, ruins, and mythical realms. The PS4 version is playable on PS5 through backward compatibility, with enhanced performance available on the newer console.
